After really looking into my starter kit I discovered that I was missing quite a few things that I would need to brew my own beer. This starter kit was great if you are going to use batch kits that they provide but lacked numerous pieces of equipment if you were going to brew your own.
Since here in Palm Springs area there isn't a store that specializes in brewery supplies I had to go back on line and order missing items such as funnels, grain grinder, etc.
The beer I use to make years ago ... if you want to call it beer ... lacked the art of brewing of today's standards. We used simple yeast like you would find for making your mother's bread and simple sugars ... now those days are gone along with "crappy" batches of beer and blown bottle tops. I got two books "Home Brewing for Dummies" & " How to Brew" as a refresher but soon discovered that times have greatly changed. These books are great, easy to read sources on the art of brewing.
This is the initial site for the organic microbrewery I am setting up. It will go through all of the processes from successes to failures that go along with setting up a brewery first at home then to small scale production.
